Colossian 3:12-13 explained

In Colossian 3:12-13 is written:

12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. (NASB)

This translation makes these two verses appear to be Paul advising Christians to forgive everybody in the entire world, simply because God has forgiven you.  It does not say that.

When one goes to the Greek written and utilizes some basic divine syntax in translation, where divine syntax is not going to reveal the same as does all translations that follow human syntax (example the New American Standard Bible, shown above), the Greek written by Paul translates into English literally as this:

12 [You personally] Wear clothing accordingly  ,  in the manner favorite this of God  ,  sacred  kai  beloved  ,  sympathy of compassion  ,  excellence  ,  modesty  ,  fortitude  ;  13 enduring of each other  kai  a certain one showing kindness to their souls  .    provided a certain one towards someone should possess fault  ,  according to the manner in which  kai  this Master has shown kindness to  .

This is then divided into thirteen segments, where three (those introduced by kai) are very important to grasp and understand properly.  Verse 12 is in eight segments, with one very important word to grasp.  Verse 13 is in two separate thoughts (denoted by periods), each with a very important element to securely take hold of.

This then read very deeply as saying:

12 a    One who has a saved soul [not everyone] will then importantly [capitalization] Wear clothing according [to one soul in flesh that is saved.]  That “clothing” is the soul of Jesus that wraps around one’s soul and flesh.

12 b     This divine robe of Jesus then is in the manner of Yahweh’s (God) favorite, as is the nature of divine marriage.  Yahweh offers divine union to all souls; but not everyone accepts that offer.  Those who reject divine marriage to Yahweh are then not His “favorites.”  This makes the “robes” be the name a wife takes on in marriage, which makes her be identified as her Husband’s wife.  This says a “favorite” takes on His name, where “Jesus” means “YAH Saves,” so a soul becomes “in the name of Jesus,” as the “clothing” of divine marriage worn.

12 c    Being a favorite of Yahweh (God) means being “sacred, holy, sanctified.”  This means the gift of divine marriage is the absolution of all sins that have surrounded a soul and its body of flesh.  It also implies that never again will one’s soul-flesh be allowed to sin (cheat on the marriage partner) and remain a favorite.

12 d   Being sacred, holy, consecrated as without sins importantly means one is beloved by Yahweh.  To be “beloved” means to be joined in Holy Matrimony, as one of Yahweh’s (God) family.  Not everyone is in Yahweh’s family.  The term “matrimony” is rooted in the word “mater,” which means “mother.”  One is then “beloved” for the purpose of being a “virgin mother” of the Son of Yahweh.  The soul of Jesus (a.k.a. Adam) is the meaning of divine, spiritual “love.”  To know the “love” of Yahweh means to be the Son resurrected within one’s “mother” soul.

12 e    To be “beloved” by Yahweh means He has shown sympathy for one’s soul that has shown compassion for Yahweh, seeing to be possessed by Him [the Genitive case – “of compassion].  The word ‘sympathy” means a relationship of unity, where two think alike.  To seek union with Yahweh, one’s soul must seek to know what Yahweh’s expectations are for union; and, this is the Covenant sent by Moses, as the divine Marriage Agreement.  One must then strive to show Yahweh one’s soul knows how to please Him, by learning and practicing those marriage vows.  This will win the “compassion” of Yahweh, leading Him to take possession “of” His new wife-soul [in males and females] in divine union.

12 f    One’s soul will experience the “sympathy of compassion” from Yahweh by leading one to live with moral excellence.  This is also called being upright in the way one lives.  This is the expectation of a past sinner, placed upon a soul by the Covenant of Yahweh.  One must learn to strive for “excellence” in all that one does, living by the Commandments.

12 g   One’s soul will lead its flesh to display “uprightness” and “excellence” in living, through developing modesty.  The state of “modesty” means the sacrifice of self, knowing that one is a sinner without a divine guide to lead one to keep one’s moral standards raised “upright.”  This means one realized pride and self-confidence always led one down the path of a sinner.  One must then learn to pray to Yahweh to keep one’s ego in check.

12 h   When one’s self-pride and self-confidence have been removed, one’s soul then develops inner fortitude.  This is an inner strength that brings a soul the courage to face dangers and adversities, without seeking external crutches and momentary satisfactions that leave a soul and its flesh filthy from sin.

13 a    When one has demonstrated inner “fortitude,” then one has become a bridesmaid whose lamp has been kept filled with oil; so, Yahweh will come as the Bridegroom in the middle of darkness and a soul will be Anointed by His Spirit [Spiritual Baptism, which makes one a Christ or Messiah, as one “chosen” by Yahweh as His “favorite”].  This marriage will then place the soul of Jesus within one’s soul-flesh, which will be a divine union that will be enduring of each other.  The word “enduring” refers to eternal life that comes from a soul’s salvation.  Again, the Genitive case says a soul is “of” the souls of Jesus, where one and the other are both the possessions of Yahweh.

13 b   Importantly this “endurance of each other” will be due to a known entity (“a certain one”) showing kindness to their souls.  In this, the Greek word heautois translates as “to themselves” [Dative, Masculine, 3P, Plural], where “selves” refers to “souls.”  The Greek word charizomenoi is translated as “forgiving,” but such a translation demands one realize forgiveness is based on one showing another favor or kindness.  The presence of the soul of Jesus is “a certain one” – Yahweh – showing “favor” by sending His Son’s soul into a soul-body that has been “forgiven” its past sins, so that soul-body will never sin again (“endurance of each other”).  The only “certain one” who can “forgive” is Yahweh.  Human beings are too incapable of not sinning when on their own, they certainly have no ability to forgive anyone, including their own soul-flesh.

13 c    This is the verse that makes it appear that one can forgive everyone in the world, which it does not say.  Based on Yahweh (“a certain one”) having “shown favor” to a saved soul, it is from this presence of Jesus’ soul within (one’s Lord) that the possibility (an “if” situation) that Jesus (“a certain one” sent into His wife-soul – i.e. Jesus) will be inclined “towards” [not against] someone else who should possess fault.  This is the truth of ministry in the name of Jesus (“a certain one), who will then lead a saint (“sacred”) to seek out sinners (someone should possess fault), so others can be saved in the name of Jesus.

13 d   When one is moved “towards someone full of sin,” who is seeking salvation, knowing that one is a sinner, the one goes to save according to the manner in which one’s own soul was saved.  There is no forgiveness offered to sinner, just as Yahweh did not offer forgiveness before all the necessary actions of commitment have been demonstrated.  No one can forgive sins but Yahweh.  So, one goes in the name of Jesus preaching the truth of the Covenant, so a sinner can see salvation is and always has been the offer of marriage to Yahweh.  One needs to be told the truth of what the Covenant means, so one’s own soul can decide to submit to Yahweh and become His vigilant bridesmaid.

13 e    Importantly This “according to the manner in which” means teaching others how to become Jesus reborn is the role one plays in divine ministry.  Anyone who says “forgive” everyone of their sins or Jesus will come again one day and Rapture the souls of sinners who never lifted a finger in commitment to Yahweh will be eternally saved … just for believing “Jesus died on the cross so we can sin and forgive” … is not filled with this Master, to whom one’s saved soul has been shown that kindness.  The only way to eternal salvation is by showing up on one’s Judgment Day with the soul of Jesus “enduring of each other.”  Yahweh will say, “I recognize you, Son.  Welcome home!”  Ministry must teach “this Lord” is Jesus within one’s soul, resurrected to be YAH Saves to lost souls.  It is only with him as one’s “Master” that one can go into ministry “towards” sinners; but the message taught can only be “this Lord has shown kindness to” me, and he will to you too … if you submit your soul fully unto Yahweh and become His “favorite beloved.”

In summation, the only way to forgive someone of their sins is by being Jesus reborn, going to a sinner seeking salvation in ministry, and letting Jesus do all the talking.
