John 5:31-38 - Divine Possession

Veres 31 begins with a capitalized Ean, which makes an important statement about that Before,” or announces an “Except”-ion to that stated prior, about “this choice of this of having sent me.” This is then relative to “me,” as a first-person statement leading to “I witness, I testify,” and “I affirm that one has experienced” “me.” This then says one has become different than “Before,” as then “Except” from the way one was. This is not thought through imagination but known through a presence within that “affirms” Jesus within (not without). As such, the first-person allows the one possessed to know Jesus as “me,” whereby an Apostle-Saint will “bear witness” and “testify” in the name of Jesus, the “me” within. This is then “on behalf of” and “in respect of” the soul of Jesus having possessed one’s soul, making it “of myself” (a “self” is a “soul”) as “mine own sake.”
Following a comma mark after this “Exception” not known “Before,” the verse states, “this evidence” or “witness, testimony” “of my soul” (“myself”) “not it exists, comes,” or “is there” as provable to be “truth” or “real” in the material sense. The proof is then the access “my soul” has to the “truth,” which is “not” a capability held by “myself prior, as demonstrated by “testimony.” This makes “not” a statement of “myself” having “no” divine possession, thus “not” able to “witness” the “truth” of Scripture, making one be “Except” from the “truth,” until so possessed by the soul of Jesus. This makes verse 31 be a statement that the “truth” can “not” be known without Jesus within “my soul.”
Verse 31 then ends with a period mark, leading to verse 32 beginning with a lower-case allos, meaning “another, other,” or “someone else.” This says the “truth” is possible through “another” soul present. Thus, verse 31 is clarified in verse 32 where it states “another” or “someone else it exists” (rather than “I exist”) “this bearing witness” or “testifying in respect of” or “concerning of me”. After a comma mark is the word kai, which signals it is important to grasp that stated next, which is: “I know as though” or “I perceive because truth it exists” or “true he is this testimony” or “witness, affirming that experienced” within. It is “he is who he testifies on behalf of me.” This states that Jesus speaks the “truth” through the lips of one of “whom he is” in possession.
Verse 32 then ends with a period mark, leading to verse 33, which begins with a capitalized Hymeis, meaning “Yourself,” where importantly a “self” is a “soul” in possession of “Your” soul-body. This is then stated to be “set apart,” like that “have sent among” or “forward, pertaining to,” and “in respect of John”. This is an important statement (capitalization of Iōannēn) of “John” the Baptist, who had a following that wanted to know the truth that he spoke. Still, the meaning behind the name “John” must also be understood as the deeper importance, where the name means, “YAH Is Gracious, YAH Has Been Gracious,” or “The Lord Graciously Gave” (Abarim Publications). This is a statement that says this “other” is the same possessing spirit that has been “sent” by “Yahweh,” out of His recognition of a “soul” (“Your soul”) that is to be reborn in the same manner as “John.”
At this point the word kai is written, which announces the importance beyond “pertaining to John,” where that is “it has testified, born witness,” and “gained approval” that is divine, for the purpose “to this testimony” being speaking “to truth.” The importance is “John” is like Jesus in speaking “verily” or “truthfully,” as the divine soul “sent” by “Yahweh” is to “Graciously give” the “truth” to those who do not know it.
Verse 33 then ends with a period mark, such that verse 34 begins with a lower-case egō, where this states the first-person as “me” or “my soul” (“myself”), without using a capitalized I. This becomes a statement that the importance of “self” (the I) must be removed, for the “truth” to be spoken. Thus, a “me” in submission has become “now” and “moreover nothing,” as “not anything” that knows the “truth” alone. It is “not from beside,” where para can translate as “friend,” which is “another in the vicinity of,” thereby being one’s personal (inner) neighbor. This additional “soul” is “of man,” where anthrōpou is a statement “of humanity” or a “human being” of physical properties. This is the source of “this testimony” that the “ego” expresses as “I access, obtain, receive,” or “obtain.” The source of all “truth” is then from divine inspiration, not a physical brain figuring things out.
Following a comma mark, the word alla states this “of mankind this testimony I receive” is an exception, as “but, contrariwise, notwithstanding, nonetheless,” where Jesus is not the source of that coming into a possessed soul. The plural tauta points to “these” to whom Jesus’ soul has entered are “these men” (as a plural number of “mankind,” including women) that “I speak to the intent” or “in order that your souls” (“yourselves”) of “you may be saved, protected, delivered.” This says Jesus’ soul does not enter a host soul like some parasite that uses a soul in its body to serve his desires – this is what demonic possession does. Instead, the soul of Jesus possesses a soul that has committed itself (a “self” is a “soul”) to serve Yahweh forevermore.
In order for that commitment to be lived up to, Jesus must become the Lord over a soul and its body, “protecting” it from the demon spirits of Satan and “delivering” the instructions of Yahweh (the divine Husband and Father), so one’s soul-body serves Yahweh as His Son reborn. This is Jesus living up to his name, which means “YAH Saves.” Jesus is the wedding gift (as the consummation of marital love) that stays forever with a “saved” soul – eternal Salvation. With this understood, verse 34 ends with a period mark.
Verse 35 then begins with a capitalized Ekeinos, which importantly states, “He, It, the other,” and “Selfsame” soul of Jesus with “these He” has joined. This then says “he was” or “he existed this lamp this burning”. When the past tense is shown as “he was” or “he existed” as a “lamp burning,” this relates to the parable Jesus was recorded by Matthew about the bridesmaids. The wise were souls who placed oil in their lamps to remain vigilant in the darkness of not knowing Scripture or being told its true meaning. The foolish were those who did no work to discern the truth, as they had no love for Yahweh. They just expected Yahweh to give them eternal life because they memorized words they never understood the meaning intended. Thus, their lamps were without oil when Yahweh came to marry His devoted souls, whose work to keep oil burning in their lamps kept them awake to His arrival. Jesus is now saying the efforts to discern Scripture are ignited by his whispers of insight. Those who listen and pay attention, doing more and more, out of love, are being filled with the Love of Yahweh, which is Jesus. Jesus is the oil that fills the lamps that are one’s soul with enlightenment that tells Yahweh one’s soul is forever committed to serving Him out of love.
When one is able to see this truth of Jesus as the oil that makes a “lamp” become “burning” with loving insight and delight in anticipating the arrival of Yahweh in divine marriage, the word kai follows, denoting the next element is important to grasp. That one-word statement of importance says “shining, appearing,” and “becoming visible”. This is then the common phrase used to describe holy baptism, which says, “An outward expression of an inward reality.” The ‘inner reality’ is the presence of Jesus as the “burning” oil within one’s “lamp.” The mobility of a “lamp, light,” or “candle” is then to cast the “light” of that “burning” so one can see the truth and become an ‘outward expression’ of that truth. The deeper meaning of Holy Baptism is then to receive the soul of Jesus (become submerged in his presence) and rise as Jesus reborn into new flesh, as an Apostle or Saint in his name.
At this point, a semi-colon is written, symbolizing a new sentence is then stated, which is relative to this aspect of “burning” within and “shining” without. This then returns focus to “these He existing” within each as a “lamp,” by stating “your souls” (“yourselves”) “now” or “then you were desiring” or “loving, choosing, willing, delighting in greatly rejoiced” or “exceeded joy according to time” or “hour into this to fire” or “light of his soul” (“himself”). This says the vigilance awaiting divine union with Yahweh (Spiritual Baptism) that then makes the soul of Jesus become one’s Lord within, commanding one’s soul-body to act outwardly as Jesus reborn into flesh, is a “time desired” and when the “light” of truth would forevermore “shine” through that wife-soul joined forever with the Son’s soul.

Verse 35 then ends with a period mark, but verse 36 is like verse 34, as again the lower-case egō becomes a statement of “me” or “my soul” (“myself”), which is the wife-soul having become one with Jesus’ soul. This then leads to “now I possess this witness greater than of that of John.” Here, the renaming of “John” in the Genitive case (possessive), as Iōannou, states that a wife-soul “now” reborn as “me” (the “soul” of Jesus) has increased the value of one’s soul-body to a “greater than” state of being. Rather than reading this as Jesus saying he is “greater than of John,” the “sameself” state of divinity “of John” is “now” where one has been elevated, because that soul is “now” able to call “me” the Son of Yahweh reborn.
Here, a period mark ends that statement, but verse 36 continues with a lower-case use of ta, meaning “these” who have become “greater than” a single soul , having become possessed “of Yahweh’s Graciousness” (the meaning of the name “John”), this is “because works, deeds,” and “acts those he has delivered up to my soul this Father in order that I may accomplish” or “fulfill, perfect, finish themselves” (a “self” being a “soul”). This says all souls are sent from Yahweh but none can return as Yahweh Saved unless they have been reborn as His Son. To be a soul-body where Jesus’ soul has resurrected is to be “accomplished, perfected,” and “fulfilled.” That state of being then relinquishes self-desires for a love of Yahweh that manifests as Jesus, the Love of Yahweh.
Following a comma mark, it is “those souls” (as “themselves”) who do the “same” as Jesus is known to have done in ministry, as well as “John,” as “those works, deeds,” and “acts” are “those which I do” or “bring about”. This says a soul “Yahweh Saved” is to seek other souls to save, in the name of Jesus. Seeing that, a comma mark pauses that realization before finishing verse 36, saying “he bears witness, testifies,” and “gives evidence with respect to” being possessed “of my soul” or “me as concerning this Father my soul has sent.” Each Saved soul is to maintain the ministry of Jesus in the flesh on earth, many times over.
Verse 36 then ends with a second period mark, leading to verse 37 beginning with a capitalized Kai, which indicated this verse is most important to discern. That then says “this having sent my soul (“myself, me”),” which refers back to that stated to end verse 36, which states “me as concerning this Father my soul has sent.” Thus, verse 37 is most important to understand “this”. Following a comma mark, “this” is confirmed to be Father,” with this then clarifying “his soul” (“himself, sameself”) as the source of Jesus’ soul. The two are joined, with Jesus (called Adam in Genesis 2) being a Yahweh elohim or a god-soul of Yahweh designed to join with a wife-soul (elohim is plural, as gods).
Following a second comma mark in this important verse, it continues to state, “he has given witness” or “he has testified with respect to my soul.” This makes the third-person of memartyrēken be the wife-soul in its body of flesh, where “he, she has intimate knowledge of Jesus within.” This is not a wish or imagination but faith that has gone beyond belief. It is then that faith that has the wife-soul and its body of flesh begin “testifying” to that faith.
With this understood, a period mark follows, which ends that important statement; but a new statement continues this important verse with the lower-case “neither, nor,” or “not even,” which is a negative statement about the soul of Jesus acting through the reborn soul-flesh that “has witnessed” and “testified” to this divine presence of the Son. This then importantly states, “voice” or “sound of his soul” (“him, himself”) “at any time” (where “neither” makes this combine now as “never”) “you have heard”. This becomes a dual statement that when a soul in its body of flesh has “not even” transformed from belief to faith from knowing the divine presence of the Son within, it is impossible to recognize the “voice” of Yahweh, “nor” the Son. However, “at any time” (without the negative attached) “you have heard,” it is this inner “voice” of Jesus’ soul that brings forth the transformation from belief to faith.
Following a comma mark, the word oute is repeated (“neither, nor, not even”), where the implication is to follow “neither” with “nor,” as two negative statements connected. However, the word can equally be read as “neither,” again referring to the soul of Jesus or the Spirit of Yahweh, relative to the one of belief not elevated to faith. This then adds to “voice” the “appearance, sight, shape,” or “form of his soul” (“him, himself”) “you have seen.” This combines to be an important statement that “testifying” to the faith is soul-based and has no physical characteristics that can be measured by” sound” or “sight” waves. This importantly states that faith is completely without any physical evidence that can be shown to another person, other than the “voice” one utters from faith, in the physical body of flesh that has a past history of being imperfect. To those known, the “sight” or “appearance” of a known sinner cannot sell faith to anyone else. It can only be detected by each individual soul that has divinely married Yahweh and been reborn as His Son (so Yahweh is the “Father” of an Apostle-Saint).
Following a period mark ending verse 37, verse 38 begins with a lower-case kai, which says importance needs to be found in the first part of this verse. That says, “this communication, account, matter, preaching,” or “word” of “voice” is “of his soul” (“him, himself”), which importantly says the immaterial that leads one to faith is what comes forth from the mouth of an Apostle-Saint. This is only “of him,” as “nothing, never, not,” or “without” that presence “of his soul” can “you possess, have, hold,” or “count on through to your soul dwelling, remaining, standing,” or “abiding”. This says “nothing” a soul in its flesh alone, “not” filled with the divine presence of Yahweh’s Spiritual Baptism and the rebirth of the Son Jesus, will “speak” or “communicate” is divine, from faith. Without this “preaching of his soul nothing” of truth can be told.
Following this realization, a semi-colon signals the end of one statement that is joined with a new statement of related focus. This next statement says, “as concerning that” or “because that other” or “that who he sent that one” or the “sameself,” “who” is Jesus the Son. This says Jesus must be “abiding” within the soul-flesh of a wife-soul, “sent” by the “Father” to be the Son reborn into flesh with a host soul, for any “word” to be “of his soul,” as the truth. Following a comma mark, this continues by stating, “to this your soul” (“yourself”) “nothing, never,” or “not you to believe, put trust in,” and “have faith.” The negative says “not to believe,” which is for the purpose of elevating “belief” to complete “trust” and ”faith,” while the focus on “to this your soul not” is to bring one to realize the presence of Jesus within. When that experience of “never” being Saved has been redeemed by the Holy Baptism of Yahweh cleansing His bride of all past sins, and to have that pure condition be forevermore guided by the soul of His Son in union with a Saved soul, this brings one “to faith” that places full “trust” in Jesus to lead one into ministry in his name.
